Wow, we've been very busy the last few weeks. I will start with this update and go from here. Jen had alot of family in town during the 4th of July. Her uncle Dennis, aunt Judy, and cousin Jeffrey came in town from Jacksonville, Florida and stayed out on the river with her Uncle Carl and Aunt Carol. Jen, Nicholas, and I had the pleasure of hosting the Shak crew (David, Mary, Becky, Greg, and Greg's girlfriend Amy). We all had a good time catching up with each other. I think fishing consumed at least 5-6 hours each day, so we took advantage of that by having a fish fry on the last night everyone was in town.
We had everyone over to our house on the 4th to eat and swim, and then we spent most other days out on the river. Nicholas was even able to go on his first boat ride. Below are some pictures from the week. We hope all of Jen's family had a great time in Bama!
Nicholas' first ride on a boat! We had been waiting all week for the perfect time to take Nicholas on a little boat ride on the river. Since we live here on the river we wanted all the family to have plenty of time on the water during their visit. We finally suited Nicholas up in his life jacket (Which you can see is a little too big and smushes up his cheeks :) and set out on the river. We barely get out of the slough when dark clouds appeared. It suddenly began to thunder and lightning around us. It was a race back to the house. Even though the boat ride was cut short, you can see that we still had a good time and took some good pictures! We also have some good video of the boat ride. We are having some techincal difficulties in posting it to the blog. When I get it figured out then it will be posted too.
On Friday night after the big fish fry, we were surprised with a little birthday celebration. Jennifer's birthday is on the 13th and mine is on the 26th. Dessert was our favorite-a Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake!

Here we are eating Mexican food at Casa Mexicana. Whenever family is in town, a trip to the local Mexican restaurant is always a must. Nicholas is sitting a high chair in a restaurant for the first time!

Happy Birthday(s)! Nicolas is getting so big. He looks like a little man sitting in that high chair :) Jennifer - What's your countdown to school? We have kids 8/13 but start with prep stuff next week. Ugh.
